Paris, France March 13 2006

Our first day in Paris was cold! The weather was beautiful and we spent the first day taking in all the sights. We climbed the Eiffel Tower (it was spectacular!), wandered down the Sien River and meandered down the Chaunce Elisse (sp). We bought a 2 day tour bus pass and used it to help get around without sooooo much walking! The girls were surprised at the amount of walking that the French do. On day 2, we climbed to the top of the Arc de Triomphe, toured Notre Dame, and made our way over to the Louvre to see the Mona Lisa, only to find that it is closed on Tuesdays! :-( A huge mistake on our part. The food was great. The girls, of course, had to have some escargot and to our surprise, ate every bit of it. The best part was getting it out of its shell. Our hotel was old but beautiful and in a great location for all of our site seeing.

We have lots, and lots of pictures that I will post upon our return.

Granada, Spain March 15th, 16th 17th 2006

Our flight out of Paris went smoothly, however, Charles Deguale (sp) airport is HUGE and navigating around proved to be a challenge! Upon our arrival in Granada, we rented a car and headed out to our hotel. Hotel Juan Miguel was located right in the town center and our room was quite large with a balcony over looking the (very busy) square. We spent the remainder of our first day touring the area around our hotel. We had dinner out, the girls are still trying to find something they like.

On Thursday, we drove up to the Sierra Nevada mountains and went skiing. The girls took a snowboard lesson and had the time of their life! Roger and I skied and took great pictures from the top of the runs. After their lesson, we stayed with the girls and watched them practice their new skills. They are both good at it already!

Extreme Home Makeover in Bernard Texas

Extreme Home Makeover came to Bernard, Texas in January. We were fortunate to live close enough to take the girls on the day of the "Reveal". They had a great time and got a few autographs. They saw the family and got to yell "Move that bus" several times! You would not believe how many times that tape that scene!

Recent Trip to San Antonio

After having been in Houston for over a year, we finally took a trip to San Antonio. It was a great town and we really loved the River Walk area. This photo is in front of a great tile mural over in the market district. It shows the real flavor of San Antonio.
